★ Donuts Mind If I Do ★

Hi again lovelies!  Welcome to another backlog entry, perhaps I was more behind than I thought ( ˶o´ ̫ `o˶) I can’t believe March is almost over! I guess time really goes by when you’re having fun ♡

Back in January my best friend and I went to one of the Hello Kitty Pop-Up Cafes! I had never been to one and was excited to get some merch ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´- 

We arrived a little later than the opening time and we were floored by how crowded the waiting line was already! It wrapped around the street from where the cafe truck was stationed. It was a gnarly sight ( •͈ ◦ •͈ ) We waited over an hour to get to the register but it was neat to see how many people showed up and the best part: the outfits! I also loved how many moms showed up with their kids too and how they also used the opportunity to curate adorable outfits for them!  It made me excited to have kids and pass down the Sanrio craze ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

★ Traveling to Hong Kong ★

Hello again angels! ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱₊˚⊹ This is will be an overdue post from the 2024 backlog;; The title already gives it away, I traveled to Asia for the first time last November!!  Traveling to Hong Kong was an unbelievably exciting and nerve-wrecking experience! I still can’t believe happened!! I didn’t have opportunities to travel, even in adulthood, and my worldwide bandwidth only stretched between my home in America and my family’s house in Guatemala. Needless to say, this trip was incredible! Before I move on I want to give a huge shout out to my dear friend Kat who invited me to go with her and share her homecoming with me! I’m eternally grateful to had been given the chance

Airline angels ready for takeoff (>ᴗ•) !

Traveling was exhausting but that was to be expected. When Kat proposed we go together to Hong Kong, the first thing that concerned me was the time I would need to spend in a plane to go back and forth. We would first need to travel to California for six hours before rushing onto another plane to our final destination which lasted sixteen hours. That’s twenty-one hours in total! My longest plane ride up to that point was two hours which is a quick nap and then you’re there. I was lucky to have Kat next to me during our first flight. It felt like a “tutorial” of what was to come. We watched movies and I listened to her advice when she’d suggest I move around the cabin to stretch my legs and how it was good practice to get over my fear of walking around a plane while it’s in motion. We were lucky that the flight attendants were super cool and interesting to talk to!

We even got free wine ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )

When we landed in San Francisco we had no time to dilly-dally. After helping an older lady who thanked us by buying us dinner, we immediately boarded our next flight. Unfortunately, we weren’t seated next to each other   It’s not that I’m scared of heights in the way where I think the plane is going to crash - I guess you can say it’s a type of claustrophobia where I don’t like being stuck in a limited space, especially when I can’t just walk away from it whenever. I did well for the most part but at the twelfth hour I felt like I was losing it. The cabin fever was getting to me. I kept fidgeting with the interactive map at the back of the headrest from the seat in front of me and followed Kat to do some laps between the aisles. The dude sitting next to me started to talk to me about his own travels which made time go by faster and his unique perspectives kept my brain busy. I fell asleep one last time and woke up to my other seat neighbor opening the window to see the sun rising over the South China Sea.

I was lucky to watch this beautiful sunrise! ദ്ദി(｡•̀ ,<)~✩‧₊

Today my best friend and I are heading to the art museum ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) We’re currently stuck in traffic, I can’t believe how many people are on the roads right now! Totally forgot that the city has more tourists than normal because of the music festival happening over the weekend;;

★ Summer Shyness ★

Happy spring break to those observing  Today my best friend and I spent our day enjoying the warm weather by the poolside while listening to J-Pop ☆(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ

After sunbathing we watched a few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer before going out to Chili's for dinner. I always heard great things about the show so it's exciting to finally see it for myself! I appreciate the costumes Buffy wears the most (ﾉ´∀｀*) I'm surprised how much 60s Tweed fashion she's dressed in. I know it’s en trend for previous styles to be recycled through every thirty to forty years but every fan edit I've seen from the show features Buffy wearing leather and sharper silhouettes. 

Dinner was delicious! I haven't had the baked potato soup in a long time, glad that its still as good as I remembered it. Looking forward to the next few days ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝ I hope they’re as sunny as today  

★ Back to Black ★

Hello again angels! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა  Today I’m announcing the bittersweet farewell to my copper hair era. After much internal debate I finally decided to go back to black 

I loved the red and was very lucky that my hair adjusted well to it and was virtually effortless to maintain but I grew bored of it. It was time for a change! What do y’all think?

★ Late Night Trivia ★

Hi hi angels! Spring break is here and I’m staying up late to celebrate ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ 

I’ve been fixated on these little online quizzes that test how many countries you can name. I initially tried to sing the animaniacs song but the map they based the lyrics on is outdated now; Same with the Carmen Sandiego acapella ૮(˶ㅠ︿ㅠ)ა

 On the global map quiz my current best score is 113/196 but overall my score is inconsistent. I have a hard time remembering the Oceanic and African countries along with the smaller European countries like Luxembourg. I’m trying to memorize all of the countries by playing smaller quizzes in the meantime. Can you beat my score?

★ DTTRW? 2024 Haul Replay ★

Good morning swamp family!  Welcome to an overdue post that’s been sitting in my drafts since mid-January ( • ˕ •マ.ᐟ Throughout 2024 I tried out a few new makeup products and wanted to take a page from Grav3yardgirl’s book to reflect and ask myself “did these things really work?!”

Heroine Make by KISSME Smooth Liquid Eyeliner

Last summer I finally got my hands on KISSME waterproof eyeliner pen in jet black and was throughly enthusiastic with my purchase! Like I mentioned before, the KISSME eyeliner pen gave me such wonderful first impressions that I got it in brown too and recommended it to all my friends as well. Unfortunately, I came to learn that they dry out extremely fast and rendered useless in less than a month. It’s such a shame too because the eyeliner pens work great and easy to use but it’s short lived. Because there are many more eyeliner pens on the market and for much less, I can’t say I’ll purchase the KISSME eyeliner pen again. 

On Till Dawn Setting Spray Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray

During a trip to Sephora a sales associate noticed that my makeup was running because of the summer humidity and highly recommended the On Till Dawn Setting Spray to me. I’ve tried it a handful of times and the formula is no joke! It’s transfer-proof, waterproof, and smudge-proof - totally worth it! It helped me the most on Halloween night when I went out in full clown make-up to a local bar with friends. Despite dancing the entire night in a small and crowded room, my make-up didn’t budge. I’ll admit that the application is kind of terrible because of the strong smell and recommend it be used in a room where you can open a window and has proper ventilation. 

Heroine Make by KISSME Long & Curl Up Mascara

I purchased the Kiss Me Heroine Make mascara alongside the eyeliner pen and while the latter resulted in a dud, the opposite can be said about the mascara. The mascara lives up to its reputation thanks to its wonderful lengthening and waterproof formula. My eyelashes are very straight and while other customers have raved on how they managed to gain and maintain curled eyelashes, I haven’t found the same success but I recommend the product regardless. The only “downside” is that it is harder to remove since it was designed to be water resistant but that’s to be expected, no? Nothing an oil cleanser couldn’t solve!
