Hello again angels!  Last Saturday I went to the Charlie XCX concert with a group of my friends! This is the first time I’ve ever attended a concert at a stadium and was unsure of what to expect. 

Before heading out, one of my friends offered to host us so we could get ready together while listening to the album. Leading up to the concert I hadn’t seen many of the girls in a looooonnngggg time so it was wonderful to be able to have a yap session while doing each other’s makeup 💚

We took the metro to the stadium to avoid traffic and we got to experience seeing all the other fans pile up after every stop. Everyone was dressed to the tens and the excited chatter filled the metro cart. 🍏  The last time I participated in a large gathering for any performer was for BTS back in 2019 and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the energy in the room didn’t fill my heart 🤭

We got our tickets months in advance and snagged cheapest seats and it showed 😭 We were in the second-to-last row of the stadium! I was actually terrified of how high we were especially considering how narrow the walkway was. While we could still see Charlie and Troy perform, I think what disappointed me the most was that I couldn’t dance along as much as I wanted because I was scared of tripping and causing an accident or something;;

[June 2024] ★ Baila Mi Corazón ★

Hi lovelies! I hope this post finds you well! Today I'm uploading a post that has been collecting dust in my drafts since early summer  

I went with a close friend to see Belanova, a Mexican pop band that's been tremendously popular since the mid-2000s. Even though so many moments from my childhood had Belanova songs in its “soundtrack”, I didn't keep up with them and only learned about the concert through coincidence while scrolling on Instagram;; Going with one of my best friends was a super last-minute miracle! 

Pardon the messy hair, I literally rushed to get ready after work and was having trouble keeping my beret on. Unfortunately, we didn't take pictures of our outfits either;; We both wore strawberry-themed attire to fit into the "chica fresa" stereotype as it pertained to the early 2000s of young preppy girls/queer youth who were often associated with listening to pop bands like Belanova.

That night was so much fun! We both danced to every song and I even got to dance with the girls that sat to my right. The people who were behind us were also having a good time as they were cracking jokes in between songs

★ Easy Like Sunday Morning ★

Hi lovelies! How are you all today? 

I've been extremely busy with work, I feel like I'm at 15% even after a good night's rest  

This morning all I could do was run some errands and get a snack before going back to bed. It's those kinds of Sundays for me y'know? I hope I feel back to normal by tomorrow morning.

I got a Black Sugar Boba Milk Ice Cream Bar and a bottle of jasmine tea for "breakfast."

Good evening angels! Today I went to a bootcamp class for the first time in three months and it was brutal  I couldn’t keep up and noticed I wasn’t strong as I was before;; Hope I can get back into the groove soon! 

★ GOING 2 MY WAY ! ★

Hello again lovelies! Happy to report that I ended up checking out the restaurant I mentioned yesterday! I didn't remember to take a picture of the food but that's alright, the ramen was mid anyways. I liked the takoyaki way more!

Wore Half Magic's Chromaddiction Matte eye paint in "We Are Aliens Chartreuse" for the first time today! The application was easy but the drying process was a bit inconvenient, especially around the crease but I guess that's to be expected.

I was looking at old selfies I'd upload on Twitter and remembered I used to pose for pictures like this all the time at one point. It's a bit nostalgic to see myself in this angle lol

Hell in a box!

After lunch, we went to the mall to walk around before hitting the arcade. We went to the usual machines like DDR and Mortal Kombat but this time we were all pulled towards the claw game, especially the one with the Hello Kitty plushies. 

My parents taught me that machine claws were scams and my own experiences cemented that sentiment but I really wanted to win today! It started with one try. I managed to align the claw with the plushie and it perfectly gripped at her head but fell out a few seconds after being airborne. Then a second try, then a third try, then I was somehow on my tenth try! At one point my friends and I were taking turns trying to get two specific plushies closer to the chute. We mastered getting the claw to grab at the plushies' head but the claw's willingness to keep its grip was the only factor working against us.

 

Despite knowing that we were experiencing the machine as it was intended, the way each turn felt like we were only closer to winning was what kept us going. Y'know human folly, something about Icarus flying too close to the sun as an allegory. We've all been there . . .

★ Stay In Bed ★

Hello again angels! It's been raining nonstop since Friday and it's literally put a damper on all the beach and pool plans I was looking forward to! I napped all day with my cats while it poured outside, only waking up to snack and do the laundry along with other little chores. I didn't lose myself in the cabin fever though thanks to my friends keeping in touch with me through FaceTime  I know I should think positively and instead focus on how much I caught up on sleep, but I hate being in the house all day! It doesn't help that I’ve spent the majority of today indoors too. Thank God I was able to get my nails done in the afternoon and be treated to an ice cream cone before the storms continued but I was hoping to have a more exciting Sunday;;

To cheer myself up I started watching the English Dub for Super Gals, a slice-of-life anime from the early 2000s that follows MC, Ran Kotobuki and her adventures as the most popular gal in Shibuya. I preferred watching Magical Girl series like Sailor Moon or Shugo Chara as a kid so I missed out on this entry completely. I'm three episodes in and noticed that the show earnestly tries to tell its intended audience of young teenage girls about potential dangers or situations they may encounter like how unsafe escorting is for young girls, how they can be manipulated and love-bombed by their boyfriends/crushes, and so on. Besides the terrible common tropes of the era that were prevalent when the anime aired, like the inappropriate romantic age gaps shared between two characters or the horrible use of derogatory slurs in the English dub, the show is alright for what it is. 

Tomorrow I have plans to catch up with friends over brunch and I'm so excited! They want to try out this ramen place I've never heard of, I hope it's good. That's it for now, I hope everyone can enjoy the rest of their Labor Day weekend despite the weather. Thanks for reading! See you next time!
